Katrín Elvarsdóttir (born 1964) received a BFA from The Art Institute of Boston in 1993. She has held numerous solo shows in Iceland and abroad, among them Double Happiness in Gerðarsafn 2016, Vanished Summer in Deborah Burke (New York) 2014 and ASÍ Art Museum 2013 and Nowhereland in Reykjavík Art Museum 2010. Katrín has exhibited her work in numerous group exhibitions in Iceland and abroad, among them EIKON Award in Künstlerhaus Vienna, 2018, Human;Nature in Martin Asbæk Gallery Copenhagen, 2017, Cyclone3 in Titanik Gallery Turku, 2016. Four books have been published with Katrín’s photography: Mórar – nærvídd (2005), Equivocal (2012), Vanished Summer (2013) and Double Happiness (2016). The publishing house Crymogea has published all her newest books and overseen their distribution internationally. Katrín has been nominated for various awards such as the Eikon Award (+45) 2017, Deutsche Börse Photographic Prize 2009 and the Icelandic Visual Arts Copyright Association Honorary Award in 2007.
