Dodda Maggý Receives Young Talent Award at Aros Aarhus Kunstmuseum

BERG Contemporary is proud to announce Dodda Maggý’s exhibition at ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum in Denmark, entitled The sound and video works of Dodda Maggý. The exhibition is a part of the exhibition series ARoS FOCUS // NEW NORDIC which focuses on young Nordic artists. Dodda Maggý is in addition receiving the YOUNG TALENT award, which amounts to 100.000 DKK and has only been awarded three times previously. The YOUNG TALENT award is meant to promote young artists on the verge of institutional breakthrough.
Dodda Maggý (b. 1981) is an Icelandic artist and composer that currently lives and works in Reykjavík. She studied Fine Arts and musical composition at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Malmö Art Academy and the Oslo National College of the Arts, in addition to studying documentary film making in Brussels. Her work has been widely exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide, such as The National Gallery of Iceland, The Reykjavík Art Museum, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Scandinavia House in New York, Yale University in the US and Contemporary Art Society in London.
On August 18th Dodda Maggý’s first solo exhibition at BERG Contemporary opened, titled Variations.
