Katrín Elvarsdóttir opens a solo exhibition at the Icelandic Embassy in Helsinki on Friday 4 April 2025, titled A BOTANICAL FUTURE.
The opening will be followed by a reception at the Ambassador´s Residence, Gallerie Käytävä, hosted by The Ambassador of Iceland; Harald Aspelund and Dr Ásthildur Jónsdóttir, curator of the exhibition.
The exhibition features works from the series Tropical Colony and Fifty Plants for Peace. The last two decades, Katrín Elvarsdóttir has been one of Iceland's most remarkable artists working with photography. She has held several solo exhibitions in Iceland and abroad and participated in numerous group exhibitions. Katrín has also received several awards for her work, being nominated for the Deutsche Börse Photographic Prize in 2009 and winning the prestigious Eikon prize in Vienna in 2017.
