Sigurður Guðjónsson participates in this year's 2024 Wuhan Biennale with his upcoming solo exhibition at the Wuhan Art Museum, opening on October 1st.
Themed "Art as a thoroughfare," this year's biennale exhibition covers a wide range of modern art creation forms from China and abroad, including painting, sculpture, video installation art, technology art, and art design. It will be held simultaneously at the Qintai Art Museum, Wuhan Art Museum, and United Art Museum, one museum in each of the three towns of Wuhan.
Guðjónsson will showcase his stunning multi-sensory sculpture 'Perpetual Motion' which first premiered at the 2022 Venice Biennale on behalf of Iceland. This particular work stems from an established practice through which the artist has explored and advanced overthe course of his career. This will be a premiere of the work in China.
The show is in view until May 2025.
